The candid discussion offered a glimpse into the Prime Minister's personal life, his food habits, and reflections on his early days in public service
Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the viral “Melodi memes” involving him and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni during his podcast debut on the People by WTF series, hosted by Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath. The candid discussion offered a glimpse into the Prime Minister's personal life, his food habits, and reflections on his early days in public service.
Kamath brought up the viral memes in a light-hearted manner, saying, “PM Sir, people often associate you with Italy and those memes. Haven’t you seen them?” In response, PM Modi laughed it off, saying, “Wo toh chalta rehta hai (that’s an ongoing thing).”
The Prime Minister revealed he doesn’t pay much attention to memes or online chatter. Discussing his food habits, he said, “I’m not a foodie. Whatever is served in any country, I eat happily.” He also admitted that deciding from a menu is challenging for him, saying, “If someone gives me a menu, I won’t be able to decide what to eat.”
PM Modi reminisced about his early days working with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). He shared that he relied on late BJP leader Arun Jaitley to navigate restaurant menus. “I would ask Arun Ji to order for me, as long as it was vegetarian. I never developed the tendency to explore food,” he said.
The two-hour podcast covered various topics, including PM Modi’s childhood, education, entry into politics, stress management, and policy-making. The episode revealed a more personal side of the Prime Minister.
