After today's loss at BGT India cricket fans have started trolling head coach Gautam Gambhir on social media.
India lost the Border-Gavaskar trophy after 10 years with a six-wicket loss to Australia on Day 3 of the 5th and final Test in Sydney on Sunday. In a significant turnaround, Australia has ended a decade-long drought by winning the Border-Gavaskar Trophy with a decisive 3-1 victory, their first since 2015.
This triumph is particularly notable as the previous four editions of the tournament had all concluded with India claiming victory by a 2-1 margin since 2017. However, this in not the first time when India has lost any series under the mentorship of Gautam Gambhir. Ever since GG has joined team as head coach, this is the third series that India has lost.
Earlier, in August (2024) India lost a bilateral ODI series to Sri Lanka after 27 years. In October (2024) India lost a Test series at home for the first time in 12 years after New Zealand beat the Men in Blue by 114 runs at the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) Stadium in Pune.

He should be replaced.

That's why you should not bring an IPL won mentor as indian coach, hope atleast BCCI understand this now.

Meanwhile, after post match press conference when India head coach Gautam Gambhir was asked about Rohit's future and his decision to sit out of the Sydney Test, he lost his cool. Gambhir said that while Rohit showed maturity to skip the 5th and decisive match of the series, some nonsensical things were written about the skipper.
"The first thing I would like to say is that there were so many reports written and things said, I mean you could be more sensible about it. When a captain or a leader takes a call, keeping the team in mind, I don't think there's anything bad. A lot of things have been said, but ultimately, individuals are there, but most importantly, there is the team and the country. I think all players should keep the team ahead of their individual interests. Rohit Sharma showed accountability at the top," he said.
