The Mahakumbh 2025 in Prayagraj has seen an unprecedented influx of devotees, with more than 10.80 crore devotees taking a sacred dip at the revered Ganga-Yamuna-Saraswati confluence as of Friday.
The grand Mahakumbh, organised under the leadership of the Uttar Pradesh government, draws devotees, sages, and followers of diverse sects and traditions from across India, said an official statement. On the 14th day of Mahakumbh 2025, a large number of devotees gathered at the Sangam for a holy dip.

The Uttar Pradesh government quoted the Chief Minister's statement on the significant milestone achieved. "The first Maha Kumbh of this century has started on the holy land of Prayagraj from January 13. In the last 10 days, more than 10 crore devotees have earned merit by taking a dip in the holy Triveni...: #UPCM Shri @myogiadityanath Ji," the post read.
Despite cold conditions, a large congregation of devotees gathered at the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj to take a dip in the ongoing Mahakumbh. Apart from this, authorities are focusing on preparations for the upcoming Mauni Amavasya on January 29, anticipating large crowds of devotees.
Visitors from around the world are often left in awe as they witness people from different languages, lifestyles, and traditions coming together at the Sangam for a holy dip.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to make a one-day visit to Prayagraj on Monday to take part in the Mahakumbh Mela 2025, as per a release from the Mahakumbh Media Centre.
According to the release, Shah is scheduled to arrive in Prayagraj at 11:25 AM on Monday, following which he will take a holy bath at the Triveni Sangam. He will then visit the Bade Hanuman Ji Temple and Abhayvat.
The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) personnel averted a major tragedy after rescuing 10 devotees from a sinking boat at Kila Ghat of Maha Kumbh Mela area on Saturday, an official said.
Deputy Inspector General (NDRF) Manoj Kumar Sharma said at around 11.30 am, a boat carrying 10 devotees near the ghat on Yamuna River suddenly lost control and started sinking.
The NDRF rescue workers patrolling the area immediately jumped into the water and rescued the devotees, he said.
As India celebrates its 76th Republic Day at Kartavya Path in Delhi on Sunday, Uttar Pradesh portrayed the spiritual celebration of Maha Kumbh emphasising the tale of 'Samudra Manthan' and devotion to Gods.
The tableau illuminated the sublimeness of the Mahakumbh held at the confluence of the holy Ganga, the uninterrupted Yamuna and the mythical Saraswati at Prayagraj.
At the front of the tableau was a replica of Amrit Kalash tilted forward and symbolised the flow of the sacred Amritdhara. Around it, sadhus and saints were shown blowing conch shells, performing 'Aachman' and meditating (meditation), while devotees bathe in the holy waters of Sangam, imbibing the spiritual essence of Mahakumbh.
In the background of the tableau, devotees ready for akharas and Amrit (royal) bathing are depicted through murals and LED screens.
Spiritual leader Morari Bapu, Swami Chidanand Saraswati - the spiritual head of the Rishikesh-based Parmarth Niketan Ashram and Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswati unfurled the national flag during the Maha Kumbh, on the occasion of 76th Republic day.
Earlier in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday unfurled the national flag in Lucknow on the 76th Republic Day, paying tribute to India's Constitution and the freedom fighters who shaped the nation.
Adityanath highlighted the significance of January 26, 1950, when India implemented its Constitution, marking the beginning of its journey as a sovereign democratic republic.

Prayagraj on Saturday evening witnessed a breathtaking spectacle during the ongoing Maha Kumbh as 2,500 drones lit up the sky showcasing the epic tale of ‘Samudra Manthan’.
The Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department is organising the grand drone show from January 24 to 26.
The event, held in the Sangam area on the occasion of National Tourism Day, showcased the tale of 'Samudra Manthan' through drones, with a blend of tradition and technology, the UP government said in a statement.
In preparation for the upcoming 'Mauni Amavasya' on January 29, the Northern Railway Lucknow Division on Saturday announced the operation of 48 special trains to facilitate the massive influx of devotees attending the ongoing Mahakumbh Mela 2025 in Prayagraj
These special trains will run until the end of February to ensure smoother travel for millions of pilgrims heading to the revered confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati.
Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Lucknow, Satyendra Mohan Sharma, said, "The special trains going to Prayagraj for the Maha Kumbh Mela will continue to operate until the end of February. A total of 48 special trains will run on the occasion of Mauni Amavasya. The number of trains for Lucknow will be higher. Currently, 11 regular special trains are operational for short distances, including routes to Ayodhya, Lucknow, Jaunpur, and Banaras."
