In the skit, Tom was joined by several stars, including Emma Stone, Scarlett Johansson, Tina Fey, Paul Rudd, Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, John Mulaney, and Alec Baldwin. They participated in an induction ceremony for Martin Short.

During the sketch, Bowen Yang from the SNL cast brought out a tray of drinks. Tom picked up one to hand to Martin, who was standing beside Tina. He joked, “May I offer you our signature cocktail, the Marty Tina”. ​

As Tom held the drink, his hand visibly shook. This made fans worry about his health, and they shared their concerns on social media. One of the fans wrote, "Did anyone notice Tom Hanks’ hands shaking unnaturally in this sketch?” The second one commented, "I also noticed it!!! And now I am concerned." The third one said, "Tom Hanks was just on SNL and he looked ROUGH and I noticed his hands now have the same shake that Bill Clinton has acquired."

Fans have previously expressed concern about Tom Hanks' health. In 2022, he was seen shaking while holding a microphone at a promotional event for the movie Elvis. He tried to steady his hand by holding it with his other hand. However, Tom has not commented on these health concerns.
