At 14, a young man began his entertainment career as a background dancer, earning a humble Rs 75 at his first gig at the Taj Hotel. Though his film debut went unnoticed, his breakthrough role in the 1989 blockbuster catapulted him to stardom. Today, he reigns as a Bollywood superstar, delivering blockbuster hits, earning crores, and amassing wealth, which he also uses to support philanthropic causes. He is none other than Abdul Rashid Salim Salman Khan, commonly known as Salman Khan. 

Born on December 27, 1965, in Madhya Pradesh's Indore, Salman is the son of renowned screenwriter Salim Khan and his first wife Salma. He attended The Scindia School in Gwalior and St. Stanislaus High School in Mumbai, where his brothers Arbaaz and Sohail also studied. He later attended St. Xavier's College in Mumbai but did not complete his studies. 

Salman entered Bollywood with a supporting role in the 1988 film Biwi Ho To Aisi. His breakthrough came in 1989 with Sooraj Barjatya's Maine Pyar Kiya, marking the beginning of a prolific career. During the filming of Maine Pyar Kiya, his initial salary was a modest Rs 31,000. However, impressed by his dedication and hard work, the filmmakers later increased his pay to 71-75,000 rupees, marking a significant milestone in his early career.

With over 100 films to his credit, Salman has consistently pushed box office boundaries, delivering numerous record-breaking hits like Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!, Karan Arjun, Hum Saath Saath Hain. After a slump, he rebounded with Wanted and achieved stardom with blockbusters like Dabangg, Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Tiger Zinda Hai. With a filmography boasting numerous blockbusters, Salman Khan's net worth is estimated to be a staggering Rs 2,900 crore as per reports. The actor reportedly commands a hefty fee of around Rs 100 crore per project, supplemented by substantial earnings from various brand endorsements. He also launched SKBH Productions in 2011, with profits from film productions going to his charity, Being Human.  He owns several brands, including, Being Human (clothing brand, 2013) which combines fashion with philanthropy and Being Strong (fitness equipment line, 2020) with over 300 gym branches across India.
