IFS Kanika Anabh, 28, hails from Ranchi, Jharkhand. She is the topper of UPSC IF 2024, and secured AIR 1 in her third attempt. Kanika Anabh is a perfect example of 'beauy with brains.' She  made her family proud, when she became a top performer in Indian Forest Services (IFoS).

IFS Kanika did her schooling from JVM Shyamali School in Ranchi. She was a bright student. She moved to Delhi for her higher studies. She  pursued her graduation from Miranda House, University of Delhi. She then completed her master's from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). She enrolled in doctoral strudies, but later dropped out of PhD in 2021, as she wanted to start preparation for UPSC, and to completely focus on it.

Kanika Anabh hails from a supportive family, who motivated her during her prepaartion. Her father Abhay Kumar Sinha, is a retired Principal District Judge from Khunti, and her mother, Anita Sinha, is a homemaker. Her family lives in Jharkhand.

After dropping out of PhD, Kanika Anabh shifter her entire focus and hardwork to crack UPSC examination, which is one of the toughest in India. Kanika got herself enrolled in coaching classes in Delhi. She started to cover the wide syllabus of examinations, gave mock tests and did regular writing practice. However, she suffered back-to-back setbacks in her first two attempts. But she did not lose hope, and cleared UPSC IFS 2024, securing impressive AIR 1 in her third attempt

Kanika Anabh believes that beauty isnot external but internal. She now becomes an inspiration for many UPSC aspirants, showcasing how hard work can make you achieve anything. She suggests aspirants to prioritize mental health and face setbacks strongly.
