Australia star registers for Pakistan Super League draft after going unsold in IPL 2025 auction

Renowned former Australian cricketer David Warner has officially signed up for the upcoming Pakistan Super League Season 10 draft. This decision follows his unsuccessful attempt to secure a spot in the IPL 2025 auction. Warner's move to join the PSL draft comes after veteran New Zealand fast bowler Tim Southee also threw his hat in the ring for the upcoming season.

Confirming Warner decision in a post on X, Pakistan Super League wrote, "ENDING 2024 ON A HIGH. The Aussie powerhouse David Warner has registered for the #HBLPSLDraft!"

The 10th season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is scheduled to take place in the city of Gwadar, located in the Balochistan district of Pakistan. The draft for the upcoming season is set to be held on January 11. The T20 league is set to kick off on April 8 and will culminate with the final match on May 19.

After Australia's exit in the Super 8 stage of the T20 World Cup 2024, David Warner announced his retirement from international cricket. Throughout the tournament Warner showcased his talent by scoring 178 runs in 7 matches, including two half-centuries.

Regarded as one of Australia's finest cricket players Warner has established himself as a T20 legend. With an impressive record of 3,277 runs in 110 matches at an average of 33.43 and a strike rate of 142.47 Warner has left a lasting impact on the game. In his international career, Warner has achieved 28 half-centuries and a highest score of 100 not out.

In the 161 One Day Internationals (ODIs) he played for Australia, Warner amassed 6,932 runs at an average of 45.30 and a strike rate exceeding 97. His remarkable record includes 22 centuries and 33 half-centuries.

During his 184-match Indian Premier League (IPL) career, Warner scored 6,565 runs at an average of 40.52 and a strike rate of approximately 140. He recorded 62 half-centuries and 4 centuries in the IPL. Warner's crowning achievement in the IPL came in 2016 when he led the Sunrisers Hyderabad to their first-ever title victory.
