'Not just a sanctuary...': American adventurer Forrest Galante visits Anant Ambani's Vantara, WATCH clip

American adventurer and wildlife expert Forrest Galante recently visited Vantara, the world's largest wildlife rehabilitation and rescue sanctuary, founded by philanthropist Anant Ambani. 

Galante called Vantara an "epic project" and stated that he was highly impressed by its extraordinary commitment to the welfare of animals. 

Known for his efforts to raise awareness about biodiversity and conservation through his television series and expeditions, Galante shared his experience in a series of videos posted on his official Instagram handle.

In the video, Galante was captured feeding an okapi, bathing elephants, sitting with a leopard and playing with morph-bred tigers. In what may be considered a brave move by the US wildlife expert, he was also seen sitting with a rescued leopard that allegedly killed 23 people.

Moreover, Forrest Galante came across a range of endangered animals at Vantara. In the same video, elephants were seen relaxing in temperature-controlled hydrotherapy pools and crocodiles were observed basked lazily in the sun at the dedicated crocodile rescue centre at the state-of-the-art facilities. 

He also praised Anant Ambani for his endeavours to rescue animals from across the globe and provide a safe shelter to them at Vantara. 

In a heartfelt video, Forrest Galante also shared his reaction to seeing a herd of elephants shed their chains, previously used to torture them. “Imagine being chained for 22 hours a day. Those days are over for these elephants at Vantara. They have found freedom here," he said. 

He also admired the Vantara caretakers for the pamper and care given to the elephants. Each day, the elephants are bathed, pampered and fed with utmost love and dedication. 

"These rituals help strengthen the bond between the mahout and the elephant," Galante stated. 

"What Anant Ambani and his team have created here is truly remarkable. Vantara isn't just a sanctuary; it's a movement for a better and more sustainable future for wildlife," Galante shared in an Instagram post.
