Stemming from humble beginnings, Hadwani has established his snack empire worth Rs 5,507 crores. Today, Gopal snacks is one of the leading snack brands in the country, enjoying approximately four lakh retailers.

From selling snacks by riding on a bicycle to leading an empire worth Rs 5,507 crores, Bipinbhai Vitthal Hadwani'as journey is nothing short of an inspiration. 

A native of Gujarat's Rajkot, Hadwani's father used to own an authentic Gujarati snack shop. Watching his father conduct the business, Hadwani developed a proclivity for the same. Over time, he developed entrepreneurial skills and polished them, envisioning ways to expand the family trade to new heights. 

When Hadwani's father loaned him Rs 4,500

Seeing his stubbornness, Hadwani's father handed him over Rs 4,500, thinking he would spend it and forget about starting a business of his own. It was when Hadwani officially entered the snack industry along with a friend and used the money to start his endeavours. 

After four years, he parted ways with his friend and got ₹2.5 lakh as his portion. With that money, he aimed to expand Gopal Snacks further. 

In 1994, he purchased a new house along with his wife and turned it into a factory to continue the business. The couple worked hard day and night and sold their products by meeting traders and shopkeepers in Rajkot. 

Hadwani's wife, Dakshaben Bipinbhai Hadvani, used to prepare the snacks in the home-turned-factory. 

Their hard work bore fruits as the demands for their snacks started increasing, which eventually prompted them to set up the factory on the outskirts of Rajkot. However, due to operational issues, they had to close the factory. 

Bipinbhai Vitthal Hadwani then secured a loan to establish a business in the city. With his hard work and passion, Gopal Snacks is now the country's fourth largest snack brand.
