Shahid Kapoor says Jab We Met's Aditya and Geet would be 'frustrated' with each other: 'Who can ever put up with her'

Out of all the films that Imtiaz Ali has directed, Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan's Jab We Met is one of the most popular, even after over 15 years of its release. While the couples end up together in films, Imtiaz Ali has often said that not all of their stories should have had a happy ending. Once, when Imtiaz Ali was asked where Kareena Kapoor Khan’s Geet and Shahid Kapoor’s Aditya from Jab We Met would end up, Imtiaz Ali told the Indian Express, "At a divorce lawyer’s office." Now, the lead actor of the film Shahid Kapoor has agreed with Imtiaz Ali's sentiments. 

In a recent interview, Shahid Kapoor said, "That’s actually a fun idea that Geet and Aditya are now breaking up because they are frustrated with each other. Aditya is like, ‘She is her own favourite, who can ever put up with her?’"

When told that fans would be unhappy if Aditya and Geet would get a sad ending, Shahid Kapoor said, "If our filmmaker thinks these two will divorce each other, then who am I to come in between? I am just an actor."

Imtiaz previously told India Today, "When the film was re-released in theatres last year, people really gave a lot of love… Now it’s been 16 years, and I feel that the film is not mine, it’s the audience’s film and they celebrate it. I look at ‘Jab We Met’ like an old friend rather than my own film now. I wouldn’t want to make a sequel of ‘Jab We Met’ because I feel that it’s complete in itself. I haven’t thought of ever making a sequel to that film."
